How the New Facebook Update Will Impact Your Law Firm

Have you heard? The Facebook news feed is changing to favor person to person engagement.

So, what does this mean for your firm?

Well, not much.

If you're posting content on your Facebook page and 'boosting' the post. Please, stop it. Boosted posts are a waste of your firm's hard-earned dollars.

Perhaps you're posting content from your blog and there isn't any interaction. That's normal for a law firm. Ask yourself this, why would anyone truly 'like' your page? You're not going to have a popular page unless you're San Diego Immigration Lawyer, Jacob J. Sapochnick

His page is more than the boring legal stuff from his website. He's posting engaging, inspiring and thoughtful content that his community is interested in.

Person to Person engagement will influence the organic reach and Facebook did away with the organic reach for posts years ago. Facebook is and will continue to be a 'pay to play' platform. If you want to stay top of mind and relevant on Facebook you want to:

1) Install a retargeting pixel your website

2) Publish educational content at least once a week (videos work best)

3) Run FB ad campaigns that target your best clients

4) Run FB retargeting campaigns that target your website visitors

5) Rinse and Repeat

Don't let an SEO 'guru' convince you that what you're doing is wrong or that you need to pay thousands of dollars MORE for the services they provide.

Your law firm should market using multiple channels that include:

LinkedIn, directories, social media, follow-up campaigns including a shock and awe box, directories, video, YouTube, networking, lunch meetings, client referral campaigns, podcasting, live videos and email marketing.

Find out what works, and then do more of it. Focus first on doing the right things, and then on doing things right by mastering details. A few basic moves produce most results and income. ~Kekichs Credo #18
