I say ‘no’, a lot. I say it far more than I say ‘yes’ because attorneys, unfortunately, are slow to adapt. My sales cycle is longer than I’d like but it’s just the nature of my niche.
Often, attorneys don’t understand the importance of a solid marketing strategy oftentimes until it’s too late and their practice is, literally, months away from closing the doors.
I said ‘yes’ to a speaking opportunity knowing there wasn’t anything in it for me. I didn’t charge for my time and I didn’t have an offer.
In the business world this is a huge ‘no-no’, but I move to the beat of my own drum and I listen intently and move quickly when God speaks to my spirit.
I keep my cup so full that I had plenty in my overflow to give to the ladies attending the conference and I’m so glad my presentation left such an impact.
There are times in our lives when we need to look beyond our niche and just serve others. This was that time for me.
Are there times when you say ‘yes’ to opportunities outside of your industry?
